The RFID industry

As the industry has evolved ODIN has pulled away as the clear leader because of our founder's guiding philosophy. In fact, ODIN was the first company in the USA to receive the award for technology innovation from the US Department of Commerce. ODIN also was ranked #1 for RFID companies by Inc. Magazine, and won the most prestigious award in the RFID industry in 2009 RFID Journal's "Best in Show". RFID Journal Editor likened ODIN's pulling ahead of the pack to "Moving Day" on the PGA tour when the leaders pull away and start jockeying for the win.

In December 2010, ODIN acquired Reva Systems, a leading RFID software provider, adding the innovative Tag Acquisition Processor (TAP) software to our software portfolio. The Reva acquistion was a natural extension to ODIN's RFID Operating system EasyEdge^tm which acts like a heartbeat on the reader - adding intelligence at the device level. Reva's TAP (now EasyTAP^tm) has patented algorithms that incorporated many readers with location, tag read sequence, and additional intelligence to create a central nervous system for RFID.

The ODIN team has deep expertise in physics, radio frequency engineering, software engineering, business process design, and asset management. One of the keys to ODIN's success is having the best RF engineers and physicists in the same building as the software developers. MIT and RFID

Since 2002 when ODIN's founder and the Director of MIT's Auto-ID Center teamed up, ODIN has deployed the largest and most sophisticated RFID systems in the world. We provide our customers with easy to adapt solutions that have gone up the most stringent learning curve possible. ODIN and Dr. Engels started out with the first trials for Walmart, completed the largest deployment for the DoD and have done most of the major healthcare innovations including a unique partnership with a world's leading clinic

RFID Software

ODIN utilizes our patented EasyRFID software tools: EasyTAP^tm, EasyEdge^tm, EasyMonitor^tm EasyReader^tm. In March 2010 ODIN changed the edgeware and middleware game by releasing EasyEdge^tm which was the first and still only Operating System that sits on any passive UHF RFID device. Those software components are the foundation for ODIN's Intelligent Asset Management "I AM^tm" solution. I AM^tm gives assets their own voice and is a true end-to-end automated IT Asset Tracking Solution.

Corporate Responsibility

ODIN also practices a green, environmentally friendly philosophy. From company employees driving hybrid vehicles to recycling the tons of cardboard that is generated each year. Old equipment such as readers and test gear are donated to colleges starting up RFID programs (please contact us if you'd like a donation). ODIN uses a part of its profits each year for several charitable organizations world-wide from cancer research to the Irish peace process.

ODIN technologies was formed in August 2002 as an LLC and converted to a Delaware C-Corporation in July 2003. The purpose-built 11,000 square foot Global Headquarters and RFID Lab are in Ashburn, Virginia just minutes from Dulles Airport; with an 8,000 square foot European lab in Budapest, Hungary; an software / engineering office in Westford, MA, an office in Dublin, Ireland; and full time resources in Toulouse, France and Geneva, Switzerland.
